Randal Nardone: Building a Fortress

New Yorker Randal Nardone may be one of the world’s newer billionaires but he’s certainly no stranger to the business industry that led him to this achievement. Randal Nardone’s climb to the top began after his attendance at the University of Connecticut and Boston University School of Law when, after working at places such as BlackRock Financial Management Company, he co-founded Fortress Investment Group LLC with Wes Edens and Rob Kauffman. The trio founded Fortress Investment Group in 1998 as a private equity group. After entering the New York Stock Exchange in 2007, Fortress became the first private equity firm to be publicly traded. It was at this time that Randal Nardone made his appearance on the Forbes Magazine list of billionaires, with a net worth of $1.8 billion.

Since founding Fortress Investments in 1998, Randal Nardone has also gone on to work in various other companies including serving as director at Florida East Coast Holdings Company, as well as joining Newcastle Investment Corp in 2002 as Secretary before going on to become Newcastle’s Vice President in 2016. Randal Nardone also serves as the current Chief Executive Officer for Fortress Macro Advisors LLC which was founded in 2011. Some of his many current positions include co-founder and Principal of FIG LLC, Director of Seacastle Inc, Director of Springleaf REIT Inc and Chief Executive Officer, co-founder and Principal of FM Falstaff Advisors LLC where he has served since 2013.

While not much is known about Randal Nardone’s personal life other than his marriage and one child, it is clear that his extensive history and experience in the business field have made him a well-respected figure in investing and business.
