NumbersUSA
NumbersUSA is a grassroots organization fighting for lower immigration levels to strengthen America’s borders since 1996. Roy Beck, NumbersUSA staff, and volunteers made it their mission to reduce the number of permanent immigrants in the U.S., providing direction for politicians and elected officials across the country about average citizens’ opinions on immigration-related issues.
NumbersUSA has become a national leader in the campaign against illegal immigration, culminating with its unprecedented success in the 2014 elections. Now, as the Senate continues to debate comprehensive immigration reform and comprehensive oversight of law enforcement’s efforts to reduce illegal immigration, it is working hard to ensure meaningful reforms instead include severe reductions in legal immigration.
It cites several conclusions in its analyses of the issue of immigration in the United States, specifically those related to the negative economic impacts derived from it, especially the negative impact it has on Americans already struggling to make ends meet.
Its main legislative goal is to reduce immigration levels to historical norms of 250,000 up to 300,000 per year. It also serves as a think tank on the issue of immigration and produces reports on various related topics.
It has been very effective in working with Congress and state governments on anti-illegal immigration legislation and its sister organization, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
Its values and principles include Concern for reducing the number of immigrants in the United States, especially those who are low-skilled or high-skilled professionals; Protecting the interests of American workers; and fostering rational immigration policy.
